Matheus Nunes is an all-action midfielder who plays for Manchester City and the Portugal national team.
Nunes started his career at Portuguese side Estoril in 2018, where he quickly caught the eye of Sporting Lisbon with a stand-out display against them in a cup fixture. Nunes completed a move to the Portuguese giants in January 2019 and went on to make 101 appearances for the club.
It was at Sporting that Nunes first impressed his future manager Pep Guardiola. The Manchester City boss hailed the Portuguese playmaker as "one of the best players in the world" after his impressive display against City in the Champions League.
Nunes then attracted the attention of Wolverhampton Wanderers, who broke their transfer record to secure his signature in 2022. He made 39 appearances for Wolves before joining Man City in the summer of 2023.
On the international stage, Nunes made his debut for Portugal in October 2021 and went on to represent his country at the Qatar World Cup.
