Ardie Savea is the current World Rugby Men's Player of the Year, who plays as a flanker or number 8 for Japanese club Kobe Steelers.

Ardie's rugby journey began in his hometown of Wellington, where he quickly made a name for himself as a standout talent after making his provincial debut in 2012 aged just 18.

In 2013, Ardie made his Super Rugby debut for the Hurricanes and helped the Wellington-based club win the competition title in 2015.

Ardie's debut for the All Blacks came a year later and he hasn't looked back since, establishing himself as an indispensable member of the New Zealand squad.

In 2021, Savea was named as captain of the Hurricanes and led the All Blacks for the first time against Australia, becoming the All Blacks' 70th Test captain.

Ardie has been involved in two Rugby World Cups, claiming the bronze medal in 2019 and silver medal in 2023.

Following the conclusion of the 2023 tournament in France, Ardie joined up with Kobe Steelers and made an impressive start to life in Japan by scoring two tries on his debut.
