Recognized as one of the most influential personalities in popular culture and multimedia, iHeartMedia New York’s Power 105.1 on-air personality Angie Martinez was recently nominated for induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame in the Music Format On-Air Personality category. Angie’s nearly twenty years of on-air hosting experience has led her to become the media trailblazer she is today: radio and TV host, New York Times best-selling author, spokeswoman, actress, recording artist, entertainment personality and philanthropist.

At the start of her career, Angie earned the respect and trust of some of the biggest names in music through her authentic and personable interviewing style. From famous early interviews with Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G. and Diddy, to more recent interviews with Barack Obama, Jesse Williams and J. Cole, Angie is well respected and praised throughout the industry for her ability to connect with both guests and listeners.

Angie’s unique and authentic storytelling ability most recently landed her a development deal with global media company Endemol Shine, where she is currently creating scripted and unscripted TV projects for traditional and digital platforms.

“Angie Martinez has been the Voice of New York for over 20 years,” said Thea Mitchem, EVP of Programming and Program Director for Power 105.1. “She is a trusted member of the hip hop community and is a trailblazer who has paved the way for women, people of color and media personalities everywhere.”
