Born and raised in Los Angeles, Hoops has made versatility her signature. After getting her start with an opera degree from a top New York conservatory, Hoops earned her songwriting stripes working alongside producer JR Rotem and Jesse St. John on original music for Fox’s hit show EMPIRE. Never one to stay in the same place for too long, Hoops quickly pivoted to indie pop, writing Elohim’s breakout single “Sleepy Eyes” with Wethan. From there Hoops quickly founds herself in rooms with Childish Gambino (“Awaken, My Love”), Austin Mahone (“Oxygen”), M83, Cirkut, Ludwig Goransson, Ariel Rechtshaid, Danger Mouse, Electric Guest, Jesse Shatkin, Sophie Simmons (“Black Mirror”), and most recently Ava Max (“Blood Sweat & Tears”). Half Armenian, half Bolivian, Hoops has been flexing her bilingual muscles, racking up collabs and co-writes alongside the likes of Reik, Jenn Morel (“Peligrosa”), Isabela Moner (Republic) and more.
